Situated in the Glebe, which is one of Ottawa’s older and more established neighbourhoods, you'll find this kitchen's style is reflective of the traditional surroundings, but has a more contemporary flair.
The ‘Stepfield’ door style was used to give this kitchen a more updated look from the traditional shaker style door with built-in appliances that have custom paneled matching doors.
A combination of colours were used for the kitchen and island. ‘Pumice’ cabinets were chosen for the focus wall and servery, while the island makes a contrasting statement with a darker ‘Fusion’ finish. The ground floor includes a servery, which is a nod to the traditional layouts of the homes in the neighbourhood.
Period details were selected for this area including leaded mullion doors with semi-antique glass. Accessories including spice pull-outs, recycling bins and pot and pan drawers make this a well-functioning kitchen.
Details which give this space a more contemporary feel include commercial grade appliances, waterfall ends on the island’s marble countertop and matching full height backsplash.
